This Friday's showcase of the top 100 misspelled words in the English language...

ATHEIST

Athiest

Wow, not only is the typo on the website, but on the physical t-shirt as well. Congratulations on such a spectacular fail.

I'm not going to get into the whole religion vs. non-religion thing.  All I know is that the stronger an organised group believes in something - the more dangerous they become.

Here is this Friday's Top 100 word:

ARGUMENT

Let's not argue about the loss of this verb's silent [e] before the suffix -ment.

Or better yet, let's argue and then say we didn't.

Or even NOT argue and then say we did.  Yeah.

 TOP 100

YAY! After a brief hiatus the top 100 is back!

Ok, so maybe I'm using the term 'brief' a little loosely.

I prefer cotton boxers myself...

Without further segways, this Friday's showcase of the top 100 misspelled words in the English language!

AMATEUR

Amateurs need not be mature: this word ends on the French suffix -eur (the equivalent of English -er).

amature

Do you have ANY idea just how difficult it was to find a PG rated website for this word?

In fact, searching on the misspellings in Google didn't register that they were actually errors, as each variation often brought back over 10,000 pages.

AMATUER

amature

It was definitley great to see the expressions on my co-workers faces though as they walked past my screen...

"Hey! What the heck are you..."
  "It's for work"
"Oh... really?" (you can imagine this was said with heavily raised eyebrows).
"Yes, I'm posting on the Top 100 misspelled words in the English language, and 'amateur' is right up there"
"I'll tell you something else that is right up there..."
  "...not. another. word."

TOP 100

This Friday's showcase of the top 100 misspelled words in the English language..

A LOT

There's allot (an allotment of goods) and a lot (many items) but there is no such word in the English language as alot.

alot

I'll get the simple one out of the way first. This screen was chosen from the many because it resides on the ABC's site, and the ABC prides itself on being a more intellectual channel than the rest.

Now for the pot of gold....  The image speaks for itself really.  This is the name of a business.
