Here is this weeks Top 100 word:

CEMETERY

Don't let this one bury you: it ends on -ery—, nary an -ary in it.

Wonderfully morbid however.

Here is this week's Top 100 word:

CALENDAR

This word has an [e] between two [a]s. The last vowel is [a].

NB: The last vowel can also be an [e] depending on your flavour of English.

So you can realistically get away with [a][e][a] or [a][e][e].  Anything else is just plain wrong and you can't spell.

calander, calander, callander

Let's just keep trying until we get it right, eh?

Calander

Here is this weeks Top 100 word:

BELLWETHER

...Bellwether??? A top 100 word?

Well, ok. I don't pick 'em I just post 'em.

*Often misspelled "bellweather." A wether is a gelded ram, chosen to lead the herd (thus his bell) due to the greater likelihood that he will remain at all times ahead of the ewes.

There you go.  Bet you didn't know that.

Happy Friday everyone. Here is this Friday's showcase of the top 100 misspelled words in the English language...

BELIEVE

"I" before "E" except after "C".

Oh, and except when in "neighbor" and "weigh" or "their" and "heir" or "foreign". (The "i-before-e" rule has more exceptions than words it applies to.)

Beleive

Yeah... you really won't believe it.

Beleive

I think there's something wrong with me.  The word "believe" constantly reminds me of Cher running her voice through a vocoder.  I should probably talk to somebody about that.
