saic

SAIC works with the United States Department of Defense, the United State Department of Homeland Security and the United States Intelligence Community. It is the ninth largest defense contractor in the United States, and of utmost importance in matters of national importance.

So while spelling may not be on the top of their priority list, they made two common spelling mistakes on their site—benefiting and environment. Benefiting has only one “t,” not two, and en-vi-ron-ment is one of those words that you just have to learn. On the other hand, I'd rather SAIC work on projects such as Stargate and write reports for the anthrax attacks than worry about silly spelling matters.

Here are two of a possible 1,884 errors:

benefitting Suggestions: benefit ting, benefit-ting, benefiting, befitting, unfitting
 (appears 1 times)

enviroment Suggestions: Environment, environment, enforcement, increment, informant
 (appears 1 times)

Heinz is a $10 billion global company, selling more than 650 million bottles of ketchup every year. They’re famous for their “57 varieties” of food products, though today the company offers over 6,000 choices. $10 billion, 650 million bottles of ketchup sold per year, 6,000 products manufactured and only 429 possible spelling errors on the corporate website. “If it isn’t Heinz, it isn’t ketchup,” the saying goes, for what’s a bowl of chips without some delicos dipping sauce?

Here are two of a possible 429 errors:

delicos Suggestions: Delicious, delicious, Felicio's, delirious, Dulci's
 (appears 1 times)

priviledge Suggestions: privilege, privileged, privileges, privilege's

Jacob's Engineering Group, one of the largest providers of professional technical services in the world, seriously misconstructed a few words on their website, as shown below. With annual revenues exceeding $12 billion, this engineering company needs to put letters together a bit more carefully.

yum

Yum! Brands is the world's largest restaurant company in the world in terms of system restaurants with more than 36,000 restaurants in over 110 countries and territories. Their brands include KFC, Taco Bell, Pizza Hut and Long John Silver's.

The Colonel's secret flavor recipe, with 11 herbs and spices, remains a trade secret. Not so clandestine, however, are spelling errors on the corporate site. I've posted them below for the world to see, and the misspelling of “services,” I must admit, is finger lickin' good!

Here are two of a possible 257 errors:

intial Suggestions: initial, inti al, inti-al, inertial, uncial
 (appears 2 times)

Sevices Suggestions: Se vices, Se-vices, Services, Service's, Devices
 (appears 1 times)
